A government-regulated retirement account invested in equity and bonds, locked until 60.
You choose how much goes into equity, corporate bonds and government securities, or let it adjust with age. Your own contributions get an extra ₹50,000 deduction (80CCD(1B)) in the old regime; your employer's contribution is deductible in both regimes, within limits.
At exit, part of the corpus must buy an annuity (at least 20% for non-government subscribers under the December 2025 rules); the rest can be withdrawn.
